I already did a post about my nativity on the family room mantel, so today I’m sharing some of the other nativities in our home.
My sweetheart and I purchased this nativity set that is in our bedroom our first Christmas as a married couple. (Yep! It’s close to being vintage now!)
This Mikasa nativity, which I purchased at an estate sale, is on the fireplace mantel in our bedroom.
There is a nativity (pieces collected from various estate sales) in our front foyer.
This one is in the grandchildren’s overnight room.
I should have opened the door on the kitchen china cabinet to photograph these figures from the 1950’s Woolworth Five & Dime store nativity set.
This “Mary, Joseph, and Jesus” figurine is also in the kitchen.
The snow globe (that no longer snows) is in our sunroom.
Under each of the two trees in the family room, there is a nativity set that can be played with by the grandchildren. (It really doesn’t bother me that the crib for Baby Jesus is broken in one set or that, when I took this photo, I couldn’t find Baby Jesus for the other set. I’m just glad the grandchildren are playing with them.)
My favorite nativity is only in our home on Christmas Eve each year, when our grandchildren and their cousins re-enact the birth of Christ. (That’s “Jesus” in the red Christmas suit, eating a cracker – the only way we could keep him in the basket until the end of the pageant, when the children sang “Happy Birthday to Jesus”.) (His twin brother is in his blue shepherd costume, and he is also eating a cracker – they obviously take after their Daddy, who is our nephew. The only way to entertain them is to give them something to eat!)
I’m joining Table Top Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life,
and The Reason for The Season party at Happier Than a Pig in Mud.
I’m so glad you came to visit my little blog. I hope you’ll come back again soon. laurie
