I’m again sharing some of my favorite inspiration photos, which I’ve saved from different sources.
I’ve always loved an entryway that has room for a big round table. This image also appealed to me because I think the sidelights and transom around the door are beautiful, and that floral arrangement on the table is spectacular, not to mention the bell jar light and those two large blue and white pieces under the table.
This room, in a vacation home, just looks like fun. Those built-in bunk beds would thrill my grandchildren. Love the chairs with slip-covers, which I assume can be removed for washing – perfect in a get-away that should be fun and relaxing for everyone.
I saved this picture, because I love the way the table cover is made, and this just looks like a lovely place to have a cup of tea and chat with a friend.
I could do some serious relaxing in this bathtub. I love the claw-foot tub and the tub fixtures. Did you notice the pretty wainscoting ~ such a nice way to dress up the bathroom. The wainscoting, combined with the rustic floor and rusty chair, give the room interesting contrasts. (If I ever decided to get out of this tub, I’d want a little rug for my feet, and I’d like to see a larger mirror or print on the wall.) How peaceful this is.
I think it is the colors and the symmetry that appeal to me in this bedroom. Blue and white is a favorite color combination of mine. Some of the elements I like: those framed prints on the wall; the subtle blue and white striped rug, and the white bedding with touches of blue (although I think it would be prettier if the folded blanket at the foot of the bed was a lighter shade of blue). I love the desk, with a view out the pretty window, framed by blue print curtains and plates (although I’d probably use a few more plates on those walls. I’m envisioning two rows of 3 or 4 plates on each side of the window. You know me, more is always better!)
Now this is the way to cook outdoors! Look at that spectacular oven and grill, all of those cabinets for storage, and a built in sink! There’s a fireplace to keep you warm during the cooler months and comfortable furnishings for lounging. Did you notice the chandelier? I like that it’s pretty, but not obtrusive. I’m not sure I’d want to have to keep this space clean, but I do love dreaming about it.
I know I’m not alone when I say that I love everything at Patina Farm, but when I saw this gorgeous secretary, I think my heart stopped for a minute. Those colors; that gorgeous bonnet top; the shape of those glass doors; that clock ~ okay, you get the idea, I love everything about it!
Who was I BI (Before Internet)? (No, I’m not talking about that I had a smaller bottom, since I sit on it so much more than I did BI.) I’m just wondering how I managed without all of this amazing beauty right at my fingertips. I hope you enjoyed seeing a little of what inspired me this week. laurie
