As the door slowly opened, we heard moans and creaks
And a very loud voice said...
Something about that candle lit table didn’t seem right,
One reason I like baseball is that I can watch a baseball game and eat at the same time. If I get up to get a snack, while watching most sports, I inevitably miss the touchdown or the basket. While I’m stuffing my face, I hear everyone yelling and cheering, and I know that I missed another exciting play. But baseball gives me plenty of time to stuff my face snack and still catch most of the action. I’m sharing our snack supper table for Saturday night’s World Series game.
Cucumber sandwich spread; Arkansas Caviar; Baked Pimento Cheese spread; Cinnamon cake.
I’ve had almost everything on this table too long to remember where I got most of it. I did recently purchase those cute dessert forks from an on-line source, Zulily (which normally sells children's clothing). The maker is Amici. I also recently purchased the melamine silhouette Halloween plates from a Christmas store. The maker is Glitterville The witch shoe spreaders and the devil cake stand were gifts from a friend

I served a green salad in the bowls and spaghetti with meat sauce in the deep square plates. I don’t think Mrs. Robinson (my high school home economics teacher) ever told us about the placement of the pasta spoon, so feel free to let me know if I have placed it incorrectly.

For the salad course, I replaced the tree with pumpkin mugs filled with a choice of salad dressings. ![]()
Dessert was ice cream and cookies, so the cookies became my centerpiece. ![]()
I fell in love with these trick-or-treater ornaments at an estate sale. As you can see on my serving table, I also liked the boxes they came in!![]()

As usual, I’ve had everything on this table too long to remember where I got most of it.
I’m linking this post to Tablescape Thursday, hosted by Between Naps On The Porch,
and to Seasonal Sundays, hosted by The Tablescaper.
A big thank you for coming to visit my blog. I really hope you’ll come back Friday to link to my weekly event, “A Few Of My Favorite Things Saturday”. laurie
Susan (Between Naps on the Porch) hosts Tablescape Tuesday, and although I am not a tablescaper, since everyone seemed to be having so much fun being a part of Susan's party, I decided to join in the fun. Do not judge Tablescape Tuesday by my tablescape. As I said, I am not a tablescaper. Please go to Between Naps on the Porch for directions to all of the real tablescapes in blog land. Actually, I prepared this post to join Tablescape Tuesday last week, but decided it wasn't worth posting. I just hadn't deleted yet. I am in the bed, sick now, so I decided I'd go ahead and post this, since I am not able to come up with something new.
The witch centerpiece was given to me by a neighbor who crafted her from Readers Digest pages. This witch cannot remain on my table, because my grandchildren are frightened by her. (Her face IS kind of frightening). Normally, during the Halloween season, she stays in our game room, because our grandchildren seldom go in there.
Of course, on my blog, even a tablescape posting comes with a story... The fabric covering the cake stand that the witch is on is an apron. My dh, knowing that I love tablecloths, bought a huge box of what he thought were tablecloths at an estate sale one time. (He had gone there to look at tools.) The top two items in the box were tablecloths. The remainder of the box was filled with aprons! I have enjoyed using them in various ways and even tie them around my chairs sometimes. (You'll probably see that in a later post). The little gold salt cellars belonged to my grandmother. I was so surprised when I found that Susan also enjoys salt cellars. I thought I was the only one who used them.
For napkin rings, I hot glued a witch ornament onto a "fallish" ribbon.
.
I sure hope that mouse doesn't get our dessert before we get to it!
Hope you enjoyed seeing my bargains on my bewitched tablescape. Now, go back to Between Naps on the Porch to see some really great tablescapes.
